Sunday, May 10

A bit of a weird day. We slept in, and I was on the go all day, so I ended up way under-eating, though I didn't go to bed hungry. So I guess once in a while it's okay.

Breakfast
Big salad with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, boiled egg, bacon, mushrooms, olive oil and lemon juice

Supper
Big salad with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, avocado, feta, 3 oz salmon, olive oil and lemon juice

Snack
(I was out with friends and knew I hadn't had nearly enough protein, so:)
Lamb lollipops x3 with sauteed spinach

Exercise
90 minute hot yoga

Monday May 11
The guide says I should eat between 1800 and 2100 calories. I am having trouble getting to 1800. I've eaten just over 1500 today. Maybe a protein shake before bed.

Breakfast
key lime smoothie: protein powder, almond milk, avocado, lime juice, spinach, small amount of maple syrup

Lunch
mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, salmon

Supper
Shirotaki noodles, sauteed mushrooms, kale, peppers, roasted tofu, red curry sauce

Snacks
mixed nuts, 2 hardboiled eggs, carrots, celery, cashew butter, greek yogurt, almond milk, protein powder

Exercise
Bootcamp

Wednesday May 13
I feel the week is off the rails, though my eating is generally fine. I am under a variety of kinds of pressure, and that's making it hard to focus. I wanted to do yoga and bootcamp today, but was only able to get to yoga. I did go for a walk after work, which helped with stress, and the feeling that things were slipping away from me.

Breakfast
poached eggs, pea shoots, rye toast

Lunch
Big salad, pork skewers, feta, avocado

Supper
Big salad, feta, avocado, grilled chicken

Snacks
Beef jerky
cheddar cheese
greek yogurt
mixed nuts

Thursday May 14
Ah, this week has not been easy. I am worn down with worry over a friend who's in crisis. And the anniversary of my brother's death is approaching. This time of year is always hard; this year is moreso because of my friend. I am soldiering on the best I can. I am making good choices where I can, and where I fall down, I am extending compassion toward myself. This is life, I guess.

Breakfast
key lime smoothie

Lunch
Big salad, feta, grilled chicken, avocado

Supper
Rye toast, almond butter, almond milk, protein powder (worked till 10pm. This is what I could manage when I got home)

Snacks
2 boiled eggs, greek yogurt, mixed nuts, cashew butter

Exercise
Hot yoga 60 mins

Friday May 15
The long weekend is here, thank you jesus. I am going to take some time to get my train back on the tracks. All things considered, I did okay this week, but I didn't make it to bootcamp more than once, my eating was good but not awesome, and I just don't feel in control of things. I'm going to take some time to make sure I have healthy snacks hanging around, plus all the supplies I need for my menu planning. Plus, a good cleaning of the house. It's been that kind of week.

Breakfast
key lime smoothie

Lunch
roasted pepper stuffed with barley and vegetables, with romano cheese

Supper
4 oz steak, 1 oz blue cheese, roasted carrots and sunchokes

Snacks
cheddar, mixed nuts, cherries, schoolhouse gluten free super nova muffin (yep, that happened).

Exercise
Hot yoga 60 mins

Monday May 25.
Oh dear. I disappeared for about ten days there -- though I have been mostly adhering to the plan, despite not making it to bootcamp much. I have been extra tired, and extra sad. May is always a hard month in my family, and Thursday was the 15th anniversary of my brother's death. It was a terrible, no good day. Sadness and stress have kept me from reporting here, though not, as I say, from mostly sticking to the program and moving my body, too. My writers group was on retreat over the weekend, so there were some definite non-plan meals being eaten (and drunk), but I did lots of walking and yoga and the like throughout. I was on track to lose 2.5 pounds this week...but we'll see what tomorrow's weigh-in reveals.

Breakfast

Lunch
big greek salad, roasted chicken leg and thigh

Supper
beef stirfry with vegetables and shirotaki noodles

Snacks
greek yogurt with almond coconut butter, cherries, almond milk with protein powder

Exercise
Hot yoga 60 mins
