How do I do this?

Post by dan.barker on Sun Jan 18, 2015 5:24 pm

Hi guys,

I need your help in making this work with my lifestyle. I'm mostly in halifax but I travel for 1-2 weeks at a time once a month to either Montreal or in rural areas where Tim Hortons is the main attraction in town. What do you recommend eating When these are your only options?

Another question: I'm training to do the bluenose half marathon and I want to focus these Evolve workouts on core strength and upper body. Which ones would you recommend focusing on?

Thanks,

dan.barker

Hey Dan-If you are running quite a lot for the bluenose I would probably stick to any two of the evolve workouts per week. They do have a lot of legs but will be great for strength for running and you will be a little fatigued at first but then feel quite a bit better during your runs. Could you give me an idea or your weekly running plan?

For eating out, always stick to the salad, soup or small sandwich options and get as many veggies in there as you can. Try to keep protein powder, quest bars and nuts with you as well so you never go too hungry.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I haven't finalized one yet, I'll be running with 4 friends and we get together next weekend to solidify it. Right now I'm running 1-2 runs a week at 8-10km, and the run would start in 2 weeks for a 16 week plan

ok, I would just be sure to only do "steady" runs once or twice a week and add in some HIIT. I can give you some good tips on how to progress them to get faster for races.
