Valerie's Nutrition Journal

Firstly, I am using my Fitbit app to track my food.

As a disclaimer: I am a nurse and when I work nightshift, I have no appetite and I come home and sleep for hours.  For example, today (Feb 3), I woke up at 3pm, and went to bed at 9pm.  Also, on my off days, I will sleep for 10+ hours, why?  Because I can.  Now that I am going to be at work for a few days my calorie intake will increase.  I'm just balancing between foods, supplements and how my body feels.

Here is my calorie diary so far:

Feb 3 - Calories 564
Daily Calorie Composition: 26% from carbs, 28% from fat and 46% from protein

Feb 2 - Calories 865
Daily Calorie Composition: 55% from carbs, 17% from fat and 28% from protein.

Feb 1 - Calories 1225
Daily Calorie Composition: 41% from carbs, 28% from fat and 31% from protein.

Jan 31 - Calories 956
Daily Calorie Composition: 53% from carbs, 25% from fat and 22% from protein.

Feb 4 - Thursday

Calories 1193
Fat - 48.9 g, Fiber - 27.6 g, Carbs - 64.6 g, Protein - 112.4 g
Daily Calorie Composition: 22% from carbs, 39% from fat and 39% from protein.

I was crippled by a nasty head cold that had me running to the fridge. Exercise was not happening, but lots of eating was had. Not letting this ruin things.

Daily Calorie Composition: 51% from carbs, 20% from fat and 29% from protein.

Feb 10 - Wednesday

Daily Calorie Composition: 43% from carbs, 26% from fat and 31% from protein.

I didn't eat much today only because I didn't exercise and I slept until 11am, also, I got a massage. It was a self care kind of day.

Daily Calorie Composition: 34% from carbs, 37% from fat and 29% from protein.

I had some carbs today because I did work out. Still trying to eat less carbs and more protein.

Daily Calorie Composition: 43% from carbs, 35% from fat and 22% from protein.

Ate too many carbs today, I know it, I realized the errors of my ways when I joyfully accepted a slice of veggie pizza. I will repent!

Feb 13 - Saturday (Birthday!)

Firstly, I want to yell to the roof tops, "WRITE OFF" however, I can't because my day started great. Had a protein and cytogreens shake for breakfast and a salad with black beans, corn and fresh mozzarella for lunch.

My "WRITE OFF" remark comes from the fact that it is my birthday tonight and my husband is taking me out for my combined Birthday and Valentine's day Dinner tonight. I will not be drowning myself in sugary desserts, but I will be enjoying fresh local foods and craft beers. To make the night even better, I'm walking to the restaurant (50+ minutes) and I have already registered for boot camp class for Sunday morning.

Official permitted cheat meal had to happen a week early.
